COLOR SELECTIONS:

A high performance, high solids, exterior wood finish, which may be applied to obtain a stained or high build, deep gloss finish, depending on application procedures. The transparent natural wood tone finishes supplement and enhance the natural beauty o the woods grain and color. The cured finish has superior UV, water and abrasion resistance. The finish is also extremely resistant to attack from mildew and wood destroying organisms. Although the product exhibits excellent penetration on new and old wood, the cured finish is very resistant to airborne contamination and moisture due to its positive dry nature. It contains 60-65% solids but has no free oil to minimize dirt or soil attachment to treated surfaces. Being a positive dry product, it is also resistant to color rub-off on clothes when properly applied.

TWP 300 products penetrates deeply into the wood without excessive surface film build, highlighting existing grain patterns" with amazing clarity and warmth.

TWP 300 reduces water absorption, the major cause of wood cracking and veneer siding de-lamination.
TWP 300 forms a barrier which resists to intrusion of wood destroying organisms, which all cause structural problems and require wood replacement.
TWP 300 is extremely lightfast, containing “ultraviolet light absorbers”
TWP 300 is more resistant to cracking, peeling or blistering than most surface oriented stains on the market. Warning the natural color, while surface mildew speckles eliminate premature unsightly and black discoloration. Accelerated and natural weathering tests show superior performance compared to conventional clear and semi-transparent wood finishes. Many stains on the market are surface oriented and subject to peeling, blistering and chipping.
TWP 300 service life on properly cleaned, and prepared rough sawn vertical cedar siding is generally three to five years with a two coat application in moderate mold and decay climate zones. Areas in extreme mold and decay zones, Such as Florida and other gulf coastal states, may require an additional service coat on portions of siding facing full sun southern exposure, within the warranty period.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

NEW WOOD: Sand wood smooth with 150 grit sandpaper or pad to open grain. Rinse surface with 4:1 mix of water and household bleach or wood bleach (best for enhanced color). Rinse thoroughly with water and allow a minimum of 48 hours of good drying conditions before applying TWP ® 300.

OLD WOOD: Rinse surface with 3:1 mix of water and household bleach to remove mildew; use wood bleach to brighten wood and follow with 1500 p.s.i. power washer to remove dead surface fiber. Allow a minimum of 48 hours of good drying conditions before applying TWP 300.

PREVIOUSLY STAINED WOOD: Remove all of the old finish with power washing or paint stripper when necessary. Failure to remove the existing finish will result in a blotchy TWP 300 applications, due to uneven penetration and discoloration of aged finish.

METHOD OF APPLICATION: MIX TWP ® 300 THOROUGHLY BEFORE USING! Apply with brush, roll, spray, and wiping cloth or applicator pad. Do not apply below 50° F, if rain is anticipated with 48 hours or heavy dew is present.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
STAINED EFFECT: Apply a thin coat of approximately 400-500 sq.ft/gal. with brush, roll or applicator pad. This should minimize sheen development especially on tight, non-absorbing wood grain. Remove excess or puddled material that has not penetrated after 15 minutes with a paint pad or rags. See special precaution for rag disposal.
GLOSS VARNISH LOOK: Apply a thin coat of approximately 400-500 sq.ft/gal; allow drying for 48 hours or until firm and then applying a second thin coat.
DRY TIME: 48-96 hours depending on drying conditions. Drying conditions will vary greatly depending on applied film thickness and weather conditions. Multi coat applications may be "tacky" for up to 30 days. Full cure will begin when surface is tack free.

THINNING AND CLEANUP:No thinning required. Use mineral spirits for equipment clean up.
**Rag Disposal - Lay used rags in a single layer outdoors and allow to air dry for 24 hours. To minimize the chance of spontaneous combustion typical of natural drying oils, place rags in water filled metal container for disposal. WARNING:This product is toxic to fish. Do not contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes. RECOMMENDED FINISH APPEARANCE: High traffic and abrasive conditions: Gloss finish procedure provides maximum mark and scratch resistance when treating cedar and redwood horizontal surfaces. On harder woods, either stained or gloss appearance gives excellent results.
Decorative Only: Vertical surfaces may be finished or either stained or have a varnished look effect.
